Join us for a free members only event where we can engage in conversation, share ideas and gather for a wonderful home-cooked meal. Slow Food San Francsico members, please watch for a separate email with all the details in the next few days. If you’re not yet a member of Slow Food, this is a great time to join. Festivities at the potluck will include the release of our new website, details on new programs and events and volunteer opportunities as well as an introduction to the new Slow Committee in charge of these events. We want to hear from you and discover how we can work together to make Slow Food San Francsico meaningful for all members.

Food From the Heart The sixth annual Food From the Heart is always a bustling scene filled with music, dancing, seasonal small plates, wine and community. You are invited to stroll through the marketplace where food vendors will offer small bites from $2-4 per taste and wine pours from $4-6. This year guests will enjoy special wines from members of the Napa Vally Vintners, music by Golden Gate Hot Club (gypsy jazz), Tango Milango, and a classical music quartet.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be of Hispanic/Latino heritage
  • Be U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico
  • Plan to enroll as a full-time undergraduate student during the 2009 – 2010 school year in an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S. with a hospitality management or culinary program.
  • Plan to pursue a degree within the hospitality management, hotel management, culinary, or food and beverage field
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale

Selected students will benefit from:

  • A full renewable scholarship, up to $9,000 to cover tuition and fees
  • Internship  opportunities with Marriott
  • Opportunity to win a trip to Washington D.C.
  • Network with influential leaders and executives
  • Learn career skills through workshops and mentoring
  • Attend the Annual Hispanic College Fund Scholarship Awards Gala
